Glycolic Acid Peel
You may be placed on a home skin care programme for at least 2-3 weeks prior to your first glycolic acid peel this is important, as your skin must be prepared for the peel.
Special creams are recommended post peel. This plays an important part of the overall peel procedure, as continuous home care programme is important in the success of your peels.

Immediately following a peel your skin may be a bit red and puffy. It can take up to one week for the renewal and rebuilding process to allow your skin to return "normal". During this time, from day 3 to 5 your skin will start to flake. Clients can usually continue with their normal day to day activities and don't usually require any down time.
During the treatment you may experience a mild stinging sensation, which will disappear quickly. Some pinkness may occur depending on the sensitivity of the skin. In some instances flaking of the skin after your peel is normal, this should subside during the first few days post peel.
The treatment process can possibly cause an acne flare up due to deep pore cleansing. A herpes simplex (cold sore) flare up in those who have had previous bouts particularly if no preventative treatment has been given.
Some clients may experience transient spots of hyper or hypopigmentation (colouration or discolouration) after the peel procedure. If these conditions are left untreated, they usually resolve themselves. You should inform Smoothlines if you develop any changes in skin colouration.
It is essential to wear SPF 30 or above on a daily basis (even in Winter) following a chemical peel.
